About the Job

AECOM is seeking a Mid or Senior Utility Coordinator to join our team, overseeing and coordinating utility work between various clients, contractors, and third-party utilities, ensuring smooth operations and compliance with client goals and requirements. This role involves coordinating utility work between various clients (FDOT/County/Private), contractors, and third-party utilities. The coordinator will develop and maintain positive relationships with third-party utilities, work with clients to set priorities, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with client goals and requirements. Additionally, the coordinator will participate in utility and roadway meetings to resolve issues, prepare status reports, maintain project tracking systems, and address utility and roadway needs promptly. This hybrid position offers opportunities to work in the following office locations: Orlando, Tampa,  Tallahassee, Coral Gables, Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, or West Palm Beach.

Responsibilities will include the administration of all aspects of the utility coordination process including:

  • Providing utility coordination services for multiple projects with tight design and or construction schedules throughout the state
  • Acting as liaison between engineers, contractors, governmental agencies, UAOs, and the public to resolve utility conflicts
  • Oversee and provide guidance to utility coordinators and design consultants for utility, roadway, and railroad coordination efforts
  • Coordinate with FDOT roadway design, right-of-way, survey, construction, and maintenance departments
  • Coordinating with FDOT in preparing Utility Work by Highway Contractor packages (UWHCA)
  • Conducting utility coordination meetings, documenting meeting minutes, and maintaining files of all activities for each utility agency
  • Scheduling and attend office, field, and Teams meetings with utility agency owners
  • Performing follow -up of meeting action items to assure effective coordination results
  • Communicating the status of coordination activities via emails, letters, and telephone to keep project team informed
  • Clearly and effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Leading and assisting with preparation of contingency plans for unplanned utility events
  • Providing schedule oversight for utility work integrated with the construction schedule
  • Review FDOT utility permit applications and plans
  • Negotiate design consultant scope and staff hours
