We are currently searching for students or alumni interested in gaining hands-on experience at a fast-paced and innovative renewable energy company. Our mission is to provide flexible renewable energy at scale, accelerating the global energy transition and benefiting our planet, customers, communities, and people. Our internships have a specific focus, but often get broader exposure to SB Energy's business, gaining insight into different areas of the company and the renewable energy industry.

This internship will help you acquire marketable project and construction management skills by participating in key Project’s team initiatives and supporting on a large renewable energy project in active construction in Kern County, California.  You will gain hands-on experience in how SB Energy’s world-class renewable energy projects are managed in the execution phase and should be prepared to enter a fast-paced, collaborative work environment. 

Responsibilities

  • Data collection on-site to support construction progress tracking.
  • Contract management on and off-site including working closely with prime contractors to ensure their contractual deliverables and obligations are being met.
  • Contract compliance monitoring with major project contracts.
  • Support on-site construction management staff with completing their daily tasks (schedule/progress tracking, daily/weekly reporting, permit and contract compliance).
  • Support off-site project management staff with completion of their daily tasks (budget and invoice tracking, purchase requisitions, daily/weekly/monthly reporting).

Skills And Experience

  • Understanding of scheduling and the basics of project management (and/or construction management).
  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interest in working on a live project site in a construction environment.
  • Proficient at MS Excel.
  • Experience with drone flying and digital twin applications is a plus.
  • Interest in and understanding construction contracts is a plus.

Location: On-site at a Solar/BESS project located in Kern County, California.
