Position Specific Description
As the Competitive Intel Lead – South & East Region, you will be the expert on competitor activity, interconnection trends, and market dynamics within the South & East region (MISO, ERCOT, SERC, NYISO and parts of SPP). Your insights will shape portfolio-wide strategies by equipping development teams with actionable intelligence to optimize project siting, reduce attrition, and improve speed to market. This high-impact role ensures development teams have the intelligence needed to make smarter, faster, and more strategic decisions.
What You’ll Do:
- Track and analyze competitor pipelines, interconnection queues, and permitting activity to identify risks and opportunities across the portfolio.
- Assess regional transmission trends, grid congestion, regulatory shifts, and market dynamics to refine competitive positioning.
- Deliver data-driven insights that influence development priorities, site selection, and market entry decisions.
- Collaborate with origination, development, and transmission teams to integrate intelligence into decision-making.
- Structure and maintain intelligence in a way that is accessible, actionable, and scalable through internal tools and platforms.
What You Bring:
- 3+ years of experience in renewable energy project development or competitive intelligence.
- Deep understanding of regional transmission and interconnection processes, permitting and regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics within your region
- A natural curiosity for uncovering competitive insights and translating data into actionable strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using data visualization and market modeling.
- Proficiency in market research tools, interconnection databases, pricing and revenue modeling and GIS a plus
Job Overview
Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed timely and within budgetary constraints.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
- Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
- Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
- Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
- Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
- Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
- Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
- Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience
