GFL Environmental is looking for full-time AZ/DZ Emergency Response Operators to support our liquid line of business out of our Thunder Bay, Ontario site. Involving boom deployment and boat operations.</li><li>Weather event responses involving wind/ice storms, forest fires, and flooding.</li><li>Chemical assessments and advisory services.</li><li>Working alongside police, fire, EMS, Environment Canada, and other stakeholders.</li><li>Incidents involving heavy equipment, vacuum trucks, and water blasters.</li><li>Collection of hazardous and non-hazardous goods</li><li>Participating in job specific and health &amp; safety training as required</li><li>Completing work related documentation and reporting</li><li>Perform work in a safe manner, so as not to endanger oneself or others Reporting workplace hazards, accidents or other occurrences that may pose a risk to the organization or the safety of oneself or others</li><li>Adhere to the Occupational Health &amp; Safety Act, Workplace Safety &amp; Insurance Board Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and Employment Standards Act</li><li>Participate in team/staff meetings when required</li><li>Work in a manner that preserves confidentiality and minimizes risk</li></ul>Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:<ul><li>Valid AZ and/or DZ license</li><li>Must have flexible availability.</li><li>Strong work ethic</li><li>Willingness to learn</li><li>Highly motivated</li><li>On-call work availability for emergency response</li><li>Valid Certification in First Aid/CPR (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment)</li><li>Manual dexterity, ability to lift 75+ lbs required.</li></ul>  We thank you for your interest.
