Thanks for your interest in Oklo!  We are searching for an experienced Director of State and Local Government Relations to join our team.

Position Description:

The Director of State and Local Government Relations will play a key role in creating and executing a national state and local policy framework to drive advanced nuclear and engage stakeholders on the ground in key markets. A successful candidate will be motivated, experienced, and excited to lead strategies that are unique to the market and drive success. While reporting to the Head of Government Affairs, this position is highly visible representing the company with senior elected officials and coordinating tightly with Oklo’s executive leadership team.  While this position is fully remote, frequent travel will be required with up to 50% of the time.

Specific responsibilities may include:

  • Build a state and local government relations strategy for the company.
  • Monitor and advocate for legislation, amendments, hearings, and policies in state capitols where Oklo will deploy technology.
  • Implementing a 50-state legislative monitoring system to follow and act upon trend lines on policy for advanced nuclear.
  • Participate in and support grass roots and grass tops efforts for key programs
  • Building strategic partnerships with community organizations, nonprofits, and community stakeholders essential to ensuring state and local policy supports Oklo.
  • Coordinate visits by Governors, State and Local elected officials and Members of Congress and staff to Lockheed Martin facilities
  • Build strategic relationships with state and local elected officials in key markets for early deployment.
  • Support facility siting processes and interactions with local and state chambers of commerce, governors’ offices, and other
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions
  • Conform with all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two to five years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience coordinating consultants with successful outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel 40-50% of the time, when needed.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Fast growth startup or public company experience
  • Experience commercializing First of a Kind (FOAK) technologies

Preferred location: Bay Area California

 About Oklo compensation:

Salary: $100,000-$200,000

Salary may fall outside of the range provided and will be dependent on applicant experience.
