We are dedicated to cultivating an equitable and inclusive environment that embraces our differences, and supports and celebrates all of our team members.</div>What you’ll do: As an Engineering Technician - EWIS, you will work closely with engineers and technicians to support the assembly, integration, and testing of Electrical Wiring and Interconnect Systems (EWIS) for our eVTOL aircraft. You will play a key role in ensuring product quality, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.<ul><li>Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, modification documents, and test procedures.</li><li>Build and route wiring harnesses from detailed schematics and work instructions, including connector termination, crimping, soldering, and quality checks.</li><li>Set up and maintain specialized tooling, jigs, and fixtures for harness routing while following strict aerospace safety protocols (including ESD precautions).</li><li>Conduct continuity checks, operational verifications, and data acquisition testing.</li><li>Troubleshoot and rectify electrical wiring issues on the shop floor, performing root-cause analysis and quick-turn repairs or modifications.</li><li>Collaborate closely with manufacturing engineers, design teams, and quality inspectors to improve processes and overall build efficiency.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to industry safety and quality standards.</li><li>Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities.</li></ul>What you need:<ul><li>Minimum 5+ years of experience in the aerospace and/or automotive industry as an engineering technician. </li><li>Associate’s degree or certification in a field of engineering technology (4+ years of experience can substitute for education requirements)</li><li>Experience with wire harness fabrication, high-voltage wiring, batteries, and electric motor controllers.</li><li>Proficiency in standard aerospace wiring practices (wire stripping, crimping, soldering)</li><li>Knowledge of aircraft safety procedures, tool control, foreign object debris (FOD) prevention, and industry regulations. </li><li>Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering instructions, and FAA guidelines.</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across various teams.</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.</li><li>Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment with shifting priorities.</li><li>Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks that may expose you to hazardous materials</li></ul>Bonus Qualifications:<ul><li>Knowledge of IPC 610/620 o NASA-STD-8739 &amp; AC43.13-B standards.</li><li>Experience in Computer-Aided Design software (CAD) such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, Catia, Etc.</li><li>A&amp;P certification or equivalent experience.</li><li>Experience working with electric aircraft, aircraft configuration management, and FAA conformity. </li><li>New Product Development experience in Aerospace &amp; Aviation</li></ul>Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and does not include an exhaustive list of responsibilities and qualifications.At Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business.
