Position Overview:

The Senior Design Manager – Hospitality will be responsible for supporting the delivery and coordination of architectural and engineering design packages across hospitality assets, ensuring alignment with project objectives, timelines, and quality standards. Reporting to the Design Management Director, the role requires strong technical proficiency, coordination skills, and a solid understanding of hospitality-related design principles and processes.

This position plays a key role in supporting multidisciplinary design development, overseeing consultants and designers, and maintaining consistent engagement with both internal and external stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

Design Coordination and Delivery

  • Coordinate and manage the production of design deliverables, ensuring timely submission of drawings, specifications, reports, and related documentation.
  • Support the development of architectural and engineering concepts into fully detailed and constructible design packages for hospitality projects.
  • Review design documentation to ensure consistency with hospitality standards, operator requirements, and regulatory codes.
  • Maintain close liaison with drafting, MEP, structure, and landscape teams to ensure cohesive interdisciplinary design output.
  • Prepare and conduct internal reviews, compile comments, and ensure incorporation into updated deliverables.

Technical Support and Documentation

  • Perform basic architectural and engineering calculations to support design intent and technical accuracy.
  • Draft technical reports, design narratives, specifications, and data tables, ensuring clarity and conformance with project requirements.
  • Review, and approve design drawings and documents under supervision, verifying accuracy, quality, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Independently carry out technically complex tasks within established project schedules and budgets, as delegated by the Design Management Director.

Team Coordination and Supervision

  • Coordinate with internal departments and other technical disciplines involved in the design process to ensure smooth information flow and integrated design development.
  • Assist in evaluating and improving internal design processes, tools, and techniques to enhance project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of design guidelines and best practices, especially related to hospitality asset typologies.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Participate in regular coordination meetings with clients, operators, and project stakeholders to present design progress, address feedback, and resolve issues.
  • Respond to RFI’s, design review comments, and client/operator queries in a timely and professional manner.
