Rear Loader Driver

The Commercial Rear/Side Load Driver will be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services to commercial customers. The driver will collect solid waste or recyclables from commercial buildings, and transporting to post-collection facilities.

 

 

Our GFL team is expanding, and we’re looking for a Commercial Rear End Driver to join us in HARTVILLE, MISSOURI ! In this role, you’ll be responsible for safely, efficiently, and courteously providing waste removal services by collecting solid waste or recyclables on commercial and residential routes and transporting them to designated post-collection facilities.

A “Day in the Life" of a Commercial Front-End Driver:

• Operate commercial Rear end or ancillary equipment along routes to collect waste and transport it to post-collection facilities.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections, submit vehicle condition reports, and maintain a DOT logbook and productivity sheets.
• Interact courteously with customers or the public, addressing questions or concerns, and report issues requiring management action.
• Clean up loose trash around the truck after dumping to maintain site cleanliness and ensure road safety.
• Adhere to all DOT, OSHA, FMCSA, and EPA regulations, and follow safe operating practices like lockout/tagout procedures.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), Class A or B, with a minimum of one year of commercial driving experience or a CDL school certificate; must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to safely drive the truck and operate equipment, with knowledge of the truck, its components, and basic maintenance for safe operation.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to read, write, and comprehend documents, maps, and follow both oral and written instructions.
• Physical ability to lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 50 pounds repetitively, and regularly move up to 100 pounds; must meet safety-sensitive criteria.
• Ability to maneuver the truck in tight spaces, back distances over 120 feet, identify unacceptable waste, and adapt to changing environments while maintaining a commitment to safety policies.
• Must be able to work in outdoor environments with exposure to extreme weather, loud noise, moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
