To perform network support and maintenance activities including: monitoring systems and remediating problems; general maintenance and upgrades.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure for Azure cloud installations, Control Center Infrastructure, and field job sites

  • Collaborate with separate operations teams that support Azure cloud, on-prem data centers, and field job sites to ensure seamless network integration and performance

  • Deploy, monitor and manage appliances and software to support network infrastructure

  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal network performance and availability.

  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation including network diagrams, configurations and standard operating procedures

  • Perform routine/scheduled patch management of systems.

  • Support Operations and Control Center afterhours issues that impact ability to perform duties. 

  • Adhere to a culture of NERC Compliance and Governance with respect to patch management, change control policies and procedures, documentation, and training

  • Develop and support Disaster Recovery, Backup, and retention policies.

  • Mentor / cross-train team members on existing and new technologies.

  • Complete other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Azure networking, Palo Alto firewalls, Fortinet firewalls, Meraki firewalls, Meraki switches and wireless, Cisco networking / Security appliance, SolarWinds Orion, and Kiwi or similar technology.

  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Azure Network Engineer Associate, Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), and Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) are highly desirable

  • Knowledge of applicable industry cyber security frameworks and compliance including NERC CIP and NIST a bonus but not required.

  • Knowledge of OSI layers and protocols/troubleshooting, TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Site to Site VPN.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory is helpful.

  • Excellent listening, speaking, and writing skills, allowing successful communication with team members and management

  • Ability to maintain a positive team attitude and ability to interact with diplomacy and tact with internal and external business partners

  • Effective and efficient use of resources; ability to orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish goals

  • Effective and creative problem solving and analytical skills; ability to assess challenges, underlying or hidden problems and issues and grasp their essence and underlying structure

  • Ability to work independently and motivated to seek opportunities for improving processes and procedures

Compensation Range:

$92,403 - $115,504
