Your Opportunity
One Permanent Full Time Position.
Capital Power Corporation is currently seeking an innovative and results-oriented individual to join our Information Services team.
Reporting to the Lead, ERP Solutions, the ERP Systems professional is accountable for technical support and maintenance of applications using Oracle RDBMS. This includes both ensuring these applications are well implemented, maintained and supported, and are achieving the required outcomes
You will contribute to our team by:
- Supporting complex and diverse set of applications for multiple business areas.
- Providing responsive and customer-focused application support services for required business areas, ensuring high availability and performance levels are achieved and maintained.
- As a member of the ERP Solutions team, provide application development services for both operations and project initiatives. Understand and follow professional IT practices within the Systems Delivery Life Cycle. Such practices include programming to a commercial standard of quality and responsiveness, testing, documentation, source code management, application packaging, and change management.
- Overseeing and performing appropriate application maintenance of complex functions to ensure reliable and secure performance of the incumbent applications, including but not limited to, applying security patches, implementing and testing version upgrades, modifying and enhancing code and performing on-going data management tasks.
- Resolving complex technical problems by applying appropriate trouble-shooting skills and ensuring best-practice steps are followed in developing, testing and implementing solutions.
- Collaborating with our business areas to understand their requirements and processes, translating them into efficient Oracle application solutions that provide business value.
- Taking part in a scheduled on-call rotation for key business processes.
What you will bring to the role:
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Computing Science, Computer Engineering, or Management Information Systems.
- Education equivalency may be considered.
Experience:
- 5+ years experience with design, configuration, maintenance and support of large scale Financial software - Oracle EBS and Hyperion.
- 5+ years experience with design, development, maintenance and support of large scale IT applications based on Oracle RDBMS.
- 5+ years experience implementing / supporting solutions constructed in middleware technologies like Web logic etc.
- 5+ years experience implementing / supporting solutions constructed in PL/SQL.
- 5+ years of experience in an application development, maintenance and support role.
- 5+ years of experience supporting large enterprise grade solutions.
- Experience in SSIS & SSMS technologies will be considered an asset.
- Experience creating and maintaining reports using an enterprise grade reporting platform will be considered as an asset.
- Understanding of Oracle EBS product and financial processes.
- System admin activities for Oracle EBS will be considered as asset.
Technical Skills:
- 5+ years experience in procedural programming language.
- 5+ years experience coding / supporting solutions constructed in PL/SQL.
- 5+ years experience implementing / supporting solutions constructed in middleware technologies like Web logic etc.
- 5+ years experience in SQL (enterprise grade RDBMS - Oracle or SQL Server preferred).
- 5+ years of system analysis and design experience; specifically analysis and programming for high availability corporate systems.
- System integration and support experience; specifically for “commercial off-the-shelf” products.
- Ability to communicate highly technical information in a clear and concise manner to peers and business representatives.
- Customer relationship skills, demonstrated responsiveness, analytical thinking, problem solving, and planning skills are required.
- Knowledge of the Systems Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) including custom-build and commercial off the shelf (COTS) implementation frameworks.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid Office/Work from home position, with possible very minimal travel to meet business users at Capital Power facilities or other offices.
Additional Details:
This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
Hours of Work: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
Union: CSU52 – IT2
Salary Range: $57.47 to $68.55
