Centrica has an exciting opportunity for a Medium Voltage/Power Generation Electrical Service Engineer to join our Centrica Business Solutions Ireland team. We are the leading provider of sustainable and energy efficient solutions to clients in many private and public-sector industries. We have a history of sustained growth and we have excellent opportunities for further significant expansion Ireland. 

This role will be primarily to support the operation of a significant power generation site in the Dublin area with planned and preventative maintenance support opportunities.

The Role 

We are seeking a dedicated Medium Voltage Electrical Service Engineer to assist with the maintenance and repair of medium voltage electrical and control systems on a Power Generation site. Your responsibilities will include troubleshooting electrical issues, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and providing technical support to clients. Our ideal candidate has a thorough understanding of medium voltage systems, the ability to work in various environments, and strong problem-solving skills. Ultimately, the MV Electrical Service Engineer will ensure all electrical work meets company standards and client expectations.

Responsibilities:

• Installation and Maintenance: Perform on-site repair of medium voltage electrical systems and equipment

• Authorised Person: act as the Authorised Person to undertake isolation and switching activities as per the standard operating procedures

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions within domestic, commercial, and industrial settings

• Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to field personnel in the areas of medium/high voltage motors and distribution equipment

• Contractor Management: Undertake supervision of trade specialists undertake service and repair activities

• Compliance: Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety regulations and industry standards

• Rota/On-call: part take for the on-call engineer rota to provide front line support for technical faults and issues

Qualifications/Experience:

• Qualification: Qualified electrician/Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related field desirable. Authorised person or working towards SAP accreditation

• Experience: Proven experience in medium voltage power distribution system operation and equipment. Experience in the operation and fault finding of SCADA control systems

• Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to read and interpret electrical and control designs, diagrams, and schematics
