Responsibilities / Tasks
You will become a part of a Project management group consisting of 7 teams. Our COFD team is divided into two project execution teams: one for Coffee Freeze Drying and one for Coffee Extraction/Spray Drying and Food, along with a shared CAD design group, totaling 35 people. Our main product is instant coffee manufacturing lines, but we also work on equipment for high-end pharma products, fruit, and pet food.
You will manage all project phases from contracting to handover, including budgeting, deadlines and specifications. You may also work on internal R&D projects. Collaborating with local and global colleagues, you will meet customer expectations, enhancing your technical and project management skills daily:
- Technical responsibility: Insight into the process engineering, including plant layout, P&I diagrams, technical specifications, arrangement drawings, component selection, and functional description
- Deadlines: Draw up and coordinate scheduling, deadlines, and milestones.
- Team and resources: Together with the project team and department manager, you will ensure that tasks are planned, prioritized, and coordinated.
- Budgeting: You are responsible for budgeting, change orders, KPI reporting, and timely invoicing and payment.
- Quality: Ensure that necessary quality assurance and documentation requirements are completed and honored. You will drive risk analyses in relation to both project risk and personal safety (FMEA).
- Communication & Contracting: After project handover from Sales, you ensure effective communication and project execution per specifications. You coordinate with stakeholders and manage kick-off reviews, FAT, and meetings.
- Manufacturing: In cooperation with the Supply Chain department, construction- and project engineers, you are responsible for handling critical suppliers and manufacturing of systems - externally and internally.
Tasks are cross-functional with support from department management and specialists; you hold overall responsibility. Project execution follows the GEA Project Execution Manual, with proper training provided before managing your own projects.
Your Profile / Qualifications
The ideal candidate
You are structured and make well-considered project decisions. You excel in motivation and leading project teams to achieve results. You maintain updated technical knowledge and can delve into critical details with specialists. Large projects are team-based, while smaller projects are managed by a single Project Manager.
The ideal candidate should have demonstrated the following key competencies in previous positions:
- Structured project management of mechanical and process engineering projects
- Technical understanding of mechanical, process and steering engineering
- Creating fruitful relations with keys stakeholders and driving proactive communication and coordination
- Persistent, flexible, and adaptive
- Great communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work with and in diverse cultures.
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or similar, e.g., chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, bachelor’s in technology engineering
- A minimum of five years of demonstrated experience with project management, including financial management and budgeting
- Technical experience in P&I diagrams, specifications, bill of materials and process plants (pumps, valves, etc.)
- Knowledge of 3D CAD and PDM (Inventor and Vault), ERP systems (MS Dynamics AX), and MS Project are an advantage in this role.
- Experience from international projects
- A high level of written and spoken English and Danish in a negotiation context.
- A high level of understanding and insight into commercial matters
Travel activity
You should expect around 50 travel days a year.
