Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy is looking for a highly motivated technical individual to join the NextEra Solar and BESS Team within Power Generation for the Texoma Region. The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational efficiency and reliability of our solar and battery energy storage systems. The ideal candiadte will be centrally located within the Texoma Region, with the ability to travel throughout and support the entire Texoma Solar Rrgion. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide both remote and on-site operational and troubleshooting support to various sites within the region.
  • Independently evaluate, select, and implement standard engineering techniques and procedures, using judgment to make necessary adaptations and modifications.
  • Lead the Event Response Process, including Root Cause Analysis and identification of countermeasures for unplanned events.
  • Conduct data analytics of site performance to quickly identify underperforming assets.
  • Ensure the accuracy of performance metrics for the sites.
  • Support leadership in identifying underperforming assets and proposing countermeasures to improve performance.
  • dentify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Drive process discipline in fleet processes that impact operations, including RCA, Countermeasure Identification, Countermeasure Execution, Replication, Daily Work Management, Material history, and scheduling of resources.
  • Support engineering changes and collaborate with OEMs to develop countermeasures to equipment failures.
  • Serve as a Six Sigma champion, supporting belt certifications and event response processes using Six Sigma tools.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Engineering Operations Support Service Team and other Engineers on the NextEra solar/BESS team.


Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies and tools.
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field troubleshooting and repairing solar facilities.


Travel Percentage: 50%

At times, the Engineer will be on-call and responsible for coordinating with the Renewables Operation Control Center, OEMs, vendors, and contractors as required.
