About the role 

This role is pivotal in implementing processes and best practices within our infrastructure and network team. The successful candidate will work closely with the seasoned technical team leader to set the direction and ensure the smooth operation of our infrastructure. 

 
Centrica is classified as critical infrastructure for the energy sector which gives unique challenges and opportunities to explore highly secure and redundant infrastructure. We are on a very exciting journey into the future and need more skillful people on the team. 

To give you an understanding of our infrastructure, we implemented a refresh of our VMware environment last year and is now running VMware VCF with the full Aria suite included. For network we are primarily using Cisco with Cisco ACI.

We are already operating in multiple countries, and within the near future expect to grow to even more countries. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Streamline documentation of deliveries for projects and larger tasks to different stakeholders, to create awareness of what the team is doing. 

• Based on your experience, help create guidelines and baselines for moving the team and infrastructure in the right direction. 

• Create a more structured and aligned way of doing documentation, processes, and automation. 

• Support on adhering to new policies and processes. 

• Form and support our journey into ServiceNow on Change, Problem, and Incident management. 

• Support daily structure in the team to lift away some of the non-technical tasks from the engineers. 

About you 

The ideal candidate excels at solving complex problems and possesses strong analytical abilities. Their collaborative spirit and global perspective make them an ideal fit for our team. With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, they can effectively navigate and manage our infrastructure operations. 

Qualifications:

• Expert knowledge of ITIL processes in a large enterprise and particularly their implementation in ServiceNow, along with ITIL Certification, is required. 

• Global experience of building out and maintaining infrastructure and network. 

• Education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 

• Proven experience in infrastructure operations management. 

• Strong knowledge of network and infrastructure technologies.
