About the role

We are seeking a Senior Associate / AVP Lawyer to support our legal functions in Southeast Asia (primarily Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam), at HQ in Singapore as well as globally. This hybrid role will be responsible for contract drafting and reviews and negotiations, ensuring regulatory and internal compliance, and providing strategic legal support across IIX’s growing impact investment initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in legal drafting, contract management, and credit documentation, along with excellent research and communication skills. Exposure to litigation would be a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Legal Documentation & Drafting:

  • Draft, review, and manage a variety of legal documents, including employment contracts, commercial agreements, NDAs, partnership agreements, and internal policy documents.

2. Compliance Documentation & Drafting:

  • Draft, review, and manage a variety of external facing policies and monitor compliance by third parties.

    3. Strategic Legal Support:

    • Provide legal input on strategic matters as they arise from time to time. Liaise with internal and external counsel as needed

      4. Legal Research & Analysis:

      • Conduct legal research across multiple jurisdictions and contribute to legal risk assessments, compliance reviews, and regulatory tracking initiatives.

      5Legal Tech & Case Management:

      • Utilize legal software tools, document management systems, and platforms to manage legal records and improve workflow efficiency

      4. Team Collaboration & Communication:

      • Work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Credit, and Operations teams, offering practical legal insights while demonstrating adaptability, responsiveness, and a collaborative spirit.

      Preferred Qualification & Experience:

      • Law degree, legal diploma, or equivalent with 4–10 years of relevant experience.
      • Solid experience in legal drafting and negotiation, particularly in employment law and commercial contracts.
      • Familiarity with legal compliance in multiple jurisdictions, ideally including Singapore, and one of Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam and other emerging markets.
      • Demonstrated experience managing legal cases or supporting legal transitions such as startup relocation or international expansion.
      • Strong command of legal research and document management tools; familiarity with e-discovery platforms is a plus.
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate legal language for non-legal stakeholders.
      • A team player with strong organizational skills, high integrity, and a solutions-oriented mindset.
