Senior Program Communication Associate – Events and Communications Coordinator

WRI India, an independent charity legally registered as the India Resources Trust, provides objective information and practical proposals to foster environmentally sound and socially equitable development. We are inspired by and associated with World Resources Institute (WRI), a global research organization. Currently over 150 researchers are working with WRI India in our offices at Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru.
 
About your role: 
You will work closely with WRI India’s Integrated Transport team. You will chiefly focus on coordinating with a range of internal and external parties to organize events along with creating associated communication products. 
How your day will unfold: 
Event and Vendor Coordination (60%)
•    Manage logistics for organizing events, consultations, and workshops.
•    Onboard external vendors, ensure timely contracting and payment dissemination through internal coordination with respective teams.
•    Support/create collaterals needed for the execution of offline and online events, including invites, agendas, backdrops, standees, etc.
•    Work with external vendors to ensure all outreach meets WRI India quality guidelines.
•    Actively support outreach activities with key stakeholders, leveraging strong interpersonal skills.
•    Maintain and update event checklists and trackers as needed and document all post-event material and outreach methodically.
 
Website & Social Media (20%)
•    Manage the workflow of specific communication deliverables and sustain conducive working relationships with project partners, vendors, and donors.
•    Ensure quality checks for website and social media content.
•    Develop simple infographics/visuals to disseminate our research findings/project milestones in an engaging format. Knowledge of visual communication tools (such as Canva, Premiere Pro) is a plus.
•    Facilitate digital outreach with webinars and podcasts in collaboration with project partners.
 
Technical Responsibilities (10%)
•    Support researchers/writers in developing and disseminating knowledge products.
•    Help develop content for research reports, proposals, and other materials.
•    Ensure all WRI India shared content is accurate, factual, and legally sound, while maintaining branding and style guidelines.
•    Identify key messages, package stories, and develop tailored dissemination strategies.
 
Qualifications and Requirements we seek: 
•    Minimum 5 years of full-time experience working as:
•    Media communicator in the development sector
•    Experience dealing with a wide variety of stakeholders and vendors.
•    Knowledge of public transport landscape in India will be preferred.
•    Excellent writing and editing skills in English. 
•    Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•    Ability to build and maintain productive relationships internally and externally.
•    Capability to communicate complex ideas in everyday language.
•    Ability to self-manage and meet deadlines, manage multiple project deadlines.
•    Enthusiasm, flexibility, technical curiosity, and willingness to learn.
•    Understanding of how events are organized and basic troubleshooting.
•    Basic familiarity with design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva or other AV/ animation software) is an added benefit.
Salary and Benefits: 14,00,000 to 18,00,000 INR CTC Per Annum
Salary shall be commensurate with experience and skills. WRI offers a generous and comprehensive benefits package.
Duration: 1 years as term hire (extendable based on performance and project requirements) 
Location: New Delhi, India 
Start date: As soon as possible
