GFL Environmental is seeking an experienced Jitney Truck Driver to join our team in Victoria, BC!

  (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, starting at 4:15 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Drive a converted heavy-duty pickup truck equipped with inverted forks

• Service multi-family residential and commercial routes, removing and transporting waste or recyclables

• Access and roll 3–4-yard bins on casters for dumping as needed

• Safely maneuver the vehicle in tight spaces and confined areas without damaging property

• Stage bins in designated locations for front-end truck pickup, repeating this process throughout the day

• Maintain clear and ongoing communication with the Jitney Lead Hand and dispatch team

• Clean up any debris around the truck or bins during dumping to maintain a tidy and safe site

• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections and submit vehicle condition reports

• Follow safe operating procedures, including lockout/tagout practices

• Adhere to all company safety standards and procedures

• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions up to 100% of the time

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (Air Endorsement preferred but not required)

• Strong communication skills with both internal teams and customers

• Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 100 pounds.

• Able to sit for extended periods (up to 75% of the time) due to the driving nature of the role

• Must meet safety-sensitive function requirements per company standards
