About the Job

ICON is seeking a Senior Business Systems Engineer I to join our Data Intelligence & Systems Architecture team to help design and deliver scalable solutions across ICON’s enterprise systems,  including ERP, HRIS, procurement, and operations platforms, to drive innovation, automation, and efficiency across the organization. As a key technical contributor, you will collaborate with teams across IT, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, Human Resources, Software, Finance & Accounting and Field Operations to design integrated systems and solve complex challenges across ICON’s digital footprint. In this role, you’ll develop and deploy high-impact solutions that streamline workflows, improve data quality, and support business-critical decision-making. You’ll work both independently and cross-functionally, contributing to internal platforms, tools, and processes that scale with ICON’s rapid growth. This role is based at ICON’s headquarters in Austin, TX and reports to the Manager of Data Intelligence & Systems Architecture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement scalable technical solutions across enterprise platforms, particularly ERP (e.g., NetSuite), HRIS, procurement, inventory, and field operations systems
  • Work cross-functionally with our internal IT, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, Human Resources, Software, Finance & Accounting and Field Operations teams.
  • Define and execute automation strategies to improve business process efficiency across departments
  • Build and support integrations between systems using APIs, data pipelines, and low-code/no-code platforms
  • Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for key business, IT operations, and cybersecurity tools, providing technical leadership and support
  • Partner with business stakeholders to gather requirements, map processes, and deliver tailored digital solutions
  • Collaborate with technical teams to maintain and evolve ICON’s system architecture and application performance
  • Support teams across the organization in managing and maturing their business applications and tools
  • Evaluate and implement new enterprise tools — including SaaS platforms, APIs, and integrations — to enhance ICON’s digital infrastructure and business workflows

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of experience in enterprise systems engineering, data engineering, ERP/MRP implementation, or a related technical role
  • Hands-on experience with ERP platforms, particularly NetSuite, and familiarity with HRIS, SaaS, and other core business systems (e.g., Workday, Coupa, Salesforce)
  • Strong proficiency in Python for building ETL pipelines and developing custom system integrations
  • Ability to architect and deliver solutions across a variety of enterprise software platforms, both natively and via REST APIs
  • Experience designing scalable, cross-functional solutions, including process mapping, integration design, and system delivery
  • Demonstrated success implementing technical solutions that automate workflows and optimize business operations
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and operate with autonomy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with Workday, Palantir Foundry, or similar enterprise platforms
  • Experience in consulting, change management, or internal system rollouts across multiple departments
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture principles, even if not in a formal architect role
  • Working knowledge of SQL for data validation, transformation, or light analytics
  • Experience with enterprise integration patterns and middleware solutions
  • Experience utilizing TypeScript or JavaScript in a professional or project-based setting
  • Experience working in operational or manufacturing-heavy industries

<p>In 2018, we told people we were going to 3D print a house and unveil it during SXSW in Austin, TX before we knew how to do it.&nbsp;Innovation is synonymous with risk and somebody had to take a risk. In partnership with housing non-profit New Story, we successfully delivered the world's first permitted, 3D-printed home in the world.<br /><br />Fast forward to today,&nbsp;ICON has 3D-printed more than 140 homes and&nbsp;structures across the U.S. and Mexico. We recently unveiled a new suite of technologies and products&nbsp;to further automate construction including&nbsp;a radical new robotic printer that enables multi-story construction, a new low-carbon building material, a digital catalog for residential architecture, and an AI Architect for home design and construction. Together, these technologies make our construction technology platform a faster, more sustainable way to build high-quality housing affordably around the world.</p>
