We’re looking for an Area Operations Manager for our Operations & Major Repair Centre to join our team at our Braeside Depot.

What you'll do:

1. Melbourne Operations Management:

  • Oversee all aspects of Aggreko’s Melbourne business operations including fleet readiness, service delivery, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure local teams operate within Aggreko’s standards for safety, environmental compliance, and operational performance.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs to track team performance, customer responsiveness, and asset utilization.
  • Coordinate with national teams to support project delivery and regional growth initiatives.

2. Major Repair Centre Oversight:

  • Lead end-to-end operations of the major repair facility, including teardown, inspection, refurbishment, testing, and final delivery.
  • Manage workflow planning and resource allocation for national repair projects.
  • Oversee technical compliance, ensuring all repairs meet engineering standards and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineering and supply chain teams to manage parts procurement and inventory control.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on turnaround time, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.

3. Leadership & Strategy:

  • Build, mentor, and lead cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop short- and long-term strategies for repair operations and Melbourne business growth.
  • Participate in budget planning and cost control efforts across both functions.
  • Act as a key liaison between the field, workshop, technical services, and senior leadership.

4. Safety & Compliance:

  • Champion Aggreko’s Zero Harm safety culture in all areas of operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant national and local regulations, as well as Aggreko’s internal policies and standards.

To thrive in this role, you'll have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in operations or technical services, ideally in power generation or heavy equipment repair industries.
  • Strong understanding of generator and transformer repair processes.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Familiarity with ERP, planning tools, Microsoft platforms would be advantageous.
  • Strong commercial acumen and project management capabilities.
