About the Job

The Product Marketing Specialist plays a key role in shaping how our products are communicated across customer touchpoints—from launch campaigns to ongoing education. This role supports the Product Marketing Manager by planning and executing content that explains products clearly, connects with target audiences, and drives engagement across channels.
Working closely with Product Marketing, Product, Brand, B2B, CX, and Creative teams, the Product Marketing Specialist ensures our voice stays consistent, informative, and aligned with business objectives. They also support the Product Specialist when needed by helping provide certain technical, QC, or warranty-related information to dealers, shops, or DTC customers to ensure consistent and accurate product communication.
This person brings a mix of storytelling, technical understanding, and customer empathy to every asset—helping turn features into benefits and specs into real-world value.

Key Responsibilities: Product-Focused Content Development

  • Collaborate with the Product Marketing Manager and Product team to understand product features, specifications, and positioning.
  • Assist in generating feature-focused content ideas and participate in planning sessions to present key features in engaging, new-use-case formats.
  • Stay current on industry trends, market opportunities, and customer preferences through competitive analysis and participation in relevant industry events.

Copy & Messaging Accuracy

  • Work with Product Marketing to translate product positioning and features into effective copy for websites, video scripts, and creative assets.
  • Write and structure scripts for product feature videos, product overviews, and tech explainers.
  • Partner with the Product Marketing Manager, Content Manager, and advertising agency to refine and review product focused ad copy for accuracy and consistency across platforms.
  • Support product packaging by outlining copy that is aligned with brand tone and product positioning.
  • Ensure all written content accurately reflects product specs, features, and positioning while maintaining a consistent brand voice.

Content Creation

  • Support and participate in the creation of educational and sales enablement video content by contributing subject-matter expertise and participating in script development.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative team to ensure all content is visually and tonally consistent with brand and product messaging.
  • Attend photo and video shoots to help capture key product features and ensure messaging alignment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, brand, creative, and marketing teams to support product launches and go-to-market initiatives outlined by the Product Marketing Manager.
  • Use customer insights and feedback gathered by the Product Marketing team to inform educational and conversion-oriented content.
  • Support ongoing sales and dealer enablement content initiatives with timely and accurate content development.
  • Attend cross-functional meetings and production events as necessary.

KPI's

  • Organic Traffic Growth: Increase in website visits from search engines.
  • Engagement: Metrics like page views, time on page, scroll depth, and social shares.
  • Conversion Rate: Percentage of users who complete desired actions after consuming content (e.g., purchase, signup).

KEYS TO SUCCESS:

  • DATA DRIVEN – you thrive on data and use it to guide your decision making, recommendations, and priorities.
  • NIMBLE – you can work in ambiguity and are committed to helping Aventon level up. You can shift perspectives, priorities, and deadlines.
  • RESILIENT – you don’t shy away from a challenge and take every opportunity to learn and grow. You’re accountable, can admit when you’re wrong, and can come back to the table after a hard day to keep working toward our desired future.
  • SOLUTIONS ORIENTED / SOLUTIONIZED – you can identify the problem and find a solution for it. You strive for continuous improvement and aren’t afraid to speak up about what is working, and what isn’t.
  • ENGAGED – you love the work, love the product, and believe in the mission. If you don’t connect with something about Avant Sports, this probably isn’t the place for you.
