This role is an exciting opportunity to build out Via’s marketing capabilities for EMEA, starting with Germany. Via has pioneered the TransitTech category, and is the global leader in providing software and services so that public transit systems can run more efficiently and meet the needs of more riders. We're looking for a multi-disciplinary marketing leader to elevate Via’s reputation and brand in Europe, to match the reach and impact we have in hundreds of communities across the continent.
The EMEA Marketing Principal will be responsible for enhancing Via’s profile among the press, industry influencers, and our public sector buyers in order to build our reputation and drive demand for Via’s products and services. Key responsibilities involve collaborating across teams and functions to align on priorities, and then building marketing plans that deliver measurable results.
This role is a part of the Marketing team, and will have the support of global resources and structures.
The ideal candidate is passionate about public transport and is an idea generator with a natural affinity for collaboration, storytelling, and delivering results.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop and lead a marketing & communications strategy that effectively promotes Via to diverse stakeholders across multiple channels, ultimately leading to commercial growth.
- Implement a strategy for launching programs that can scale across regions and geographies.
- Build and manage budgets, and collaborate to report on performance for lead generation, conversion, influence, and revenue growth.
- Collaborate with global teams responsible for content, email marketing, PR, design, product marketing, and other key capabilities to localize campaigns and deliver materials relevant to priority markets across Europe.
- Work closely with sales leadership to identify priorities and build marketing plans in line with commercial targets.
- Connect with customers to build a strong case study and referral network.
- Continuously monitor the market, maintain expert knowledge of the competitive landscape and positioning, analyze market trends and customer feedback, and adapt and refine marketing strategies accordingly.
- Work with our NY-based PR team to foster and maintain strong relationships with European media outlets to ensure consistent and positive coverage of Via and our customer programs.
Who You Are:
- Communicate effectively in both German (native-level) and English (fluent). French is a plus.
- You have a minimum of 5 years of experience to guide you.
- Experienced in developing successful multi-channel marketing campaigns.
- An experienced leader who can influence cross functional teams, and navigate a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, written, and leadership skills.
- Able to manage complex initiatives and meet ambitious goals.
- You have strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Skill managing media relationships and overseeing local agencies.
