Maintenance Technician C (I)

Transdev in The City of Victoria, TX is seeking a Heavy Technician to bolster our team. This role demands expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines across various vehicles and equipment. As a Heavy Technician, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring safety, efficiency, and longevity for our vehicles.

Transdev is proud to offer:

· Competitive compensation package of minimum $25.00 – Maximum $30.00 an hour based on experience.

Benefits include:

· Vacation: minimum of two (2) weeks

· Sick days: 5 days

· Holidays: 12 days; 8 standard and 4 floating

Key Responsibilities:

· Diagnose and accurately perform all phases of vehicle repairs

· Remove, clean, repair, reinstall and adjust vehicle components:

o • Engine repair and diagnosis

o • Engine emission components (State certification)

o • Driveline components

o • Electrical/ electronic components

o • Brakes/ suspension/ steering/ exhaust

o • Cab/ chassis

o • Hydraulics

o • Various Scan tool proficient

· Assist Technician I and Technician II in advanced diagnostic and repair tasks, contributing to efficient workflow.

· Execute routine maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and optimize engine performance.

· Ensure work orders are properly completed

· Select appropriate course of action for repairs

· Evaluate completed work prior to release

· Ensure safe use of power and hand-held tools

· Perform road calls and emergency services as necessary

· Move vehicles safely between job and work area

· Communicate professionally with customers, team members and supervisors

· Actively participate in safety or educational training as required

· Continuous ASE/ EVT re-certification is required to remain in job classification

Qualifications:

· 3 years of experience as a Heavy Technician.

· Candidates must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.

· ASE certifications required; ASE certification program provided

· Mechanic’s Tool Set

· Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.

· Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

· Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions-100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.

· Sit for extended periods (up to 6–8 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces

· Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level

· Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
