Position Summary:
The Reliability & Maintenance Engineer is responsible for providing the technical program leadership and implementation activities to maximize the maintenance-related uptime and operating efficiencies of equipment and facility assets. This role will monitor the status of the Plant's reliability maintenance program evolution relative to corporate program strategies.
What You Will Do
- Heavy emphasis on fixed equipment inspections coordinating with 3rd party to ensure equipment meets API code/company requirements. Review findings then form/execute necessary repairs and/or future inspections.
- Ability to review company policies and develop procedures/policies tailored to site
- Provide support to site and projects team performing necessary calculations and guidance to modify/improve and/or install new equipment to the site.
- Implement reliability maintenance program improvements for the assets under their responsibility and facilitate the identification and communication of the root causes of losses in operation of production, facility and utility processes.
- Develop procedures and specifications for the reliability maintenance aspects of existing and new equipment.
- Effectively size equipment and perform necessary calculations to ensure equipment and safety devices are within spec.
- Operate hands-on, conducting evaluations to examine and determine equipment condition in the field while utilizing drawings, manufacture documentation, etc.
- Review equipment in the field to ensure current documentation of equipment is on file.
- Ability to effectively communicate between plant personnel/Management to ensure there is alignment with operations and current projects.
- Ability/experience analyzing rotating equipment applications/failures and engineer long term solutions to improve reliability
What You Bring
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
5+ years of chemical manufacturing experience.
Experience with fixed equipment (vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, etc.).
Experienced implementing safety/quality/productivity initiatives.
Demonstrated experience successfully identifying areas of improvement and managing the associated change process.
Ability to effectively plan and prioritize tasks and responsibilities as needed to meet established timelines and objectives.
Demonstrated experience in effectively engaging teams, facilitating root cause analysis and driving actions to completion.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
Intermediate skill level with MS Office Suite programs.
