Position Specific Description
In this job you will:
· Perform on site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex server problems and recommend and implement corrective hardware and/or software solutions.
· Recommend, schedule and perform server OS improvements, upgrades, and repairs.
· Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.
Technical Proficiency:
· Linux/Unix Administration
· Expertise in Unix/Linux operating systems, particularly IBM AIX and Linux.
· Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, shell scripting, Bash, Python) for task automation.
· Hands-on experience with Unix virtualization technologies (IBM PowerVM, VMware).
· Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools.
· Experience in clustering and/or high availability solutions that include IBM PowerHA.
General IT Skills:
· Strong understanding of network protocols, security measures, routing, and switching.
· Knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery planning and execution.
· Familiarity with ITIL practices for IT service management.
