Water/Wastewater Treatment Engineer

The Opportunity

As a part of our continued growth, AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our treatment plants team in Winnipeg, Manitoba.  The candidate for this position will work on municipal water/wastewater treatment, pump station and related infrastructure projects in all phases from planning and feasibility to detailed design, construction, and commissioning.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Work successfully within a team environment and communicate effectively with other project team members and clients
• Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks
• Undertake preliminary and detailed engineering design activities
• Exercise judgement limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives
• Develop engineering designs, sketches, diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications
• Complete technical calculations and analysis to support design decisions
• Prepare technical reports and plans
• Review of quantity and cost estimates for completeness and accuracy
• Support in the delivery of infrastructure to clients mostly within the municipal water and wastewater sectors
• Provide contract administration including reviewing contractor submittals and payment applications
• Provide technical support on construction projects including performing site visits to confirm conformance to design drawings and specifications
• Coordinate the work of a multi-discipline team of engineers
• Support project managers as a deputy project manager
• Pursue and deliver new water/wastewater projects with private and municipal clients
• Actively engage in professional development and industry events
