Detailed Description

  • Lead a Team of supply chain professionals managing a global supply chain towards strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Manage all aspect of purchasing to efficiently and cost effectively support organizational operations
  • Develop and manage Purchasing policies and procedures
  • Develop and manage Purchasing KPIs – review, measure and ensure targets are reached
  • Review and improve Purchasing processes
  • Review and manage Purchasing related contracts
  • Represent Purchasing Team in MRB Meetings and provide support for material disposition
  • Coordinate New Vendor Review processes and review & approve new vendors
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Oversee and execute and purchase order cycle
  • Ensure appropriate inventory targets are met
  • Analyze purchase requirements to determine most favorable purchasing strategy
  • Ensure daily receipts and invoicing discrepancies are addressed
  • In collaboration with local and corporate management implement strategic initiatives including but not limited to the following:
    • ITAR compliance
    • Global trade compliance
    • Working capital initiatives
    • Lean Manufacturing
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Post-secondary Degree
  •  Currently enrolled in or have completed: Supply Management Training, Production and Inventory Management certification, and/or APICS courses
  • 5 years of purchasing experience with 3 or more of those years with relevant experience in a manufacturing or a hi-tech electronics environment
  • Experience with managing large scale, special projects, such as New Product Introduction
  • Experience with strategic supply-chain activities such as supply planning, sourcing, contracts, and supplier performance management
  • Working knowledge of project management principles and practices
  • Knowledge of Purchasing and Supply Chain Systems and LEAN principles
  • Financial acumen
  • Excellent computer skills, high competency level in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with ERP systems, SAP is preferred
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and with the ability to work both independently and as a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Creative and resourceful
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be a US Citizen or have Permanent Resident Status

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles
  • CPIM/CPP/SCMP certification is an advantage
  • Well-rounded exposure to purchasing precision machined components, PCBAs, Optics, and box builds.
