Pyka is looking for a deployed flight test engineer to support the development and commercial deployments of its advanced autonomous aircraft. You will set up the first missions of our planes in different locations abroad, and train and support our customers as they operate the aircraft. Both vehicles are highly economical to operate, easy to deploy, and significantly reduce C02 emissions in their respective industries. What you work on at Pyka makes people’s lives better now and brings the future of electric aviation one step closer each day. Responsibilities<ul><li>Travel to and participate in international commercial deployments (Central America, South America to start) to support flight testing, customer training and product support</li><li>Guarantee continuous operations at customer sites by identifying, troubleshooting and fixing any arising issues, with the remote help of Pyka’s engineering teams</li><li>Recommend new features, improvements, design changes, etc. to the design team</li><li>Conduct diverse fleet maintenance activities, involving the aircraft itself, ground infrastructure, laptops, and batteries</li><li>Assemble, prepare and fully test airframe airworthiness after shipment to customer sites</li><li>Serve as Pilot In Command or Ground Control Operator of experimental / developmental unmanned aircraft</li><li>Lead and/or participate in ground and flight test events as Test Conductor or Test Crew member</li><li>Manage complex logistics in support of flight operations</li></ul>Required Qualifications<ul><li>Experience with mechanical and electrical systems, assembly, and troubleshooting</li><li>Basic high voltage safety knowledge and comfortable working on 120 VDC, 20 ~ 30 kW systems</li><li>Familiarity with linux, command line usage, git</li><li>Experience visualizing and analyzing data logs</li><li>Independent and motivated, with an extremely strong work ethic; able to self-direct and manage time</li><li>Extreme attention to detail and thoroughness</li><li>Willingness to travel in foreign countries and spend several weeks working independently</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul><li>Experience flying fixed wing UAVs / model aircraft or large multirotors</li><li>Experience with ground control and mission planning software</li><li>Proficient in Portuguese or Spanish (language familiarity and willingness to learn.)</li><li>Knowledge of aircraft systems and manuals</li><li>Part 61 pilot certificate is a plus</li></ul>Company Perks<ul><li>$76,000–$106,000 per year base salary + $18,000–$27,000 anticipated additional cash compensation + equity.
