You might like this job if: <ul><li>You believe electric transportation is the future and want to make it a reality.</li><li>You enjoy the operational challenges of introducing new, reliable, and sustainable power  systems.</li><li>You’re able to take a risk on something new, thrive in ambiguity, and can adapt to change.</li><li>You want to create a cleaner, safer, and technologically advanced future for African cities.</li><li>You want to roll up your sleeves and get the job done.</li></ul>Position Summary and Responsibilities: Under minimal supervision,<ul><li>Performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Electric buses in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations, statutory requirements and BasiGo policy and procedures. </li><li>Maintaining, repairing, and inspecting the bus body electronics, including internal and external bus lighting systems, vehicle safety equipment, horn, windshield wipers, mirrors and lights.</li><li>Repairing motor and battery cooling system and components including replacing radiators, cooling fan, electric fan drive system components, thermostats, water pumps, belts and other related cooling system components.</li><li>Diagnosing and repairing E-Bus electrical systems including the high-voltage battery system and electronic control system.</li><li>Overseeing the installation of electrical components and electronics in the E-Buses.</li><li>Evaluating E-Bus incidents and development of recommendations and alternatives.</li><li>Conducting brake system performance tests and diagnostics.</li><li>Performing on‐board computer diagnostics and reports on defects and/or symptoms of impending failure.</li><li>Identifying and reporting any additional maintenance and/or repairs found necessary.</li><li>Suggesting methods, processes, and tools to continuously improve the efficiency and quality of BasiGo’s service.</li><li>Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior Technicians and Interns, enhancing their skills in electrical diagnostics and repairs. </li><li>Diligently recording time spent, parts used and repairs and/or maintenance conducted on appropriate company form(s).</li><li>Committing to working safely based on OSHA and BasiGo standards to avoid personal injuries.</li><li>Maintaining a safe, clean, productive and efficient work area including ensuring the work area is in compliance with all relevant guidelines and requirements as well as BasiGo standards.</li><li>Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned.</li></ul>Our ideal candidate would have: Required qualifications:<ul><li>Required qualifications:<ul><li>2+ years proven work experience as a high-quality Technician/Mechanic for commercial/public service vehicles.</li><li>BSc. in Mechanical Engineering, College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent background in electric vehicle technology.</li><li>Hands-on experience in either electrical, mechanical, or other related field service experience; experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.</li><li>Strong technical capabilities.</li><li>Hands-on experience solving complex automotive diagnostic and repair problems.</li><li>General knowledge of charging, automotive, and/or vehicle systems.</li><li>Able to work flexible hours (day and night shift).</li><li>Strong team player who is ready to collaborate and achieve the best result for the team!</li></ul></li></ul><ul><li>Skills &amp; Attitude:   <ul><li>Enterprising, self-starter who is adaptable to the changing needs of a start-up business.</li><li>Detail-oriented, resourceful, diligent, and able to operate independently with limited supervision</li><li>Demonstrated ability to learn new automotive technologies and systems.</li><li>A good driving record demonstrating the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle is required.</li><li>Physical and Environmental Demands include but not limited to the following: lifting, bending, climbing, kneeling, reaching, sitting, standing, working from ladders, walking, working in extreme temperatures (cold/heat), confined quarters, excessive noise, and high voltage.</li><li>You are hardworking, a great team player, and a lot of fun to work with.</li></ul></li></ul>BasiGo is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
