Position Specific Description

 

NextEra Energy is seeking a talented Strategic Initiatives Lead for our Treasury organization at the principal level. The successful candidate will drive technology solutions and implement efficiencies within the business unit. This role involves managing projects end-to-end, identifying innovative solutions, and resolving challenges effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technology Solutions: Identify, develop and deploy technology solutions that enhance the capabilities of the Treasury organization, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Efficiency Improvements: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency within the Treasury organization through technology and innovative practices.
  • Project Management: Lead projects from inception through completion, including planning, resource allocation, execution, monitoring, and closure, delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve business unit challenges by implementing effective solutions and corrective actions.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Drive strategic initiatives aimed at advancing the Treasury organization’s objectives and operational goals.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, IT, and Operations, to ensure successful project outcomes and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Innovation: Continuously assess market trends and emerging technologies to identify and propose new solutions that can benefit the Treasury organization.

 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, IT or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in strategic initiatives, project management, or technology solutions.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent project management capabilities.
    • Ability to innovate and drive changes that lead to operational improvements.
    • Proficiency with technology platforms and tools
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Experience in stakeholder management and collaboration across functional teams.

Job Overview

Employees in this role lead the analysis and strategy on high priority projects as assigned by senior executive management. This position works with a small cross-functional team of Subject Matter Experts (SME) to analyze, develop, and propose strategies or solutions to complex topics. Individuals rapidly identify key data, stakeholders, and the current landscape in order to effectively present ideas for executive review.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leads cross-functional projects including data collection, analysis and implementation of recommendations to senior management
  • Creates and communicates formal presentation of proposal to business leaders at higher levels of management, including executive
  • Develops hypothesis and validates them with data and discussion with appropriate Subject Matter Experts, then consults with business units for additional validation
  • Compiles and analyzes highly analytical problem solving analysis, and compiles them in a succinct manner to be reviewed by executive management
  • Develops strategies to address opportunities identified through analysis
  • Conducts research in other industries and stays abreast of innovative advancements in order to apply them to key problems
  • Interacts with senior and executive leadership, developing trust and credibility
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience: 6+ years

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's - Business Administration
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Six Sigma Master Black Belt
