About the Job

Overview

Responsible for overseeing and managing the financial health of a portfolio of projects. This position will work closely with senior executives and business leaders to ensure that financial strategies align with the company’s broader goals, ensuring profitability, growth, and risk mitigation.  

 

Location: This position can be located at one of our office locations daily: Fargo, ND; Indianapolis, IN; Denver, CO; or Phoenix, AZ. This position may be open for remote, but preference will be given to someone who can be office based.

The MasTec Renewables market sector is part of the MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure business segment. MasTec’s Clean Energy & Infrastructure (CE&I) segment generates over $4 billion in annual revenue, providing construction services across industrial, renewables and infrastructure sectors. Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead the financial strategy and execution for the portfolio
  • Develop financial models, forecasts, and strategies to support long-term goals
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management for strategic decision-making
  • Oversee the preparation and review of consolidated financial reports for the portfolio, including revenue, margin, and cash positions
  • Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations for improving profitability and operational efficiency
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for the portfolio, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives
  • Monitor performance against budget and forecast, highlighting areas of concern or opportunities for improvement
  • Identify and assess financial risks within the portfolio and develop risk mitigation strategies with senior management and operations
  • Assist with monitoring external market conditions and regulatory changes that may impact financial performance
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial operations and improve processes within the portfolio
  • Implement best practices in financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis across the portfolio
  • Lead and mentor finance professionals, providing guidance and career development opportunities
  • Build strong relationships with key business leaders to foster a collaborative financial management culture
  • Communicate financial performance and strategic financial matters to senior executives
  • Ensure monthly, mid-month, and month-end items are accurate, and action items are complete
  • Prepare and present financial reports to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant work experience
  • 10+ years of financial and data analysis experience

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Zero Injury principles
  • Experience with the use of Quality tools and statistical analysis (6-Sigma certification preferred)
  • General knowledge of the construction and services business, with a general understanding of our service offerings
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking abilities
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication skills
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI
  • Self-starter who is motivated and able to identify problems, recommend solutions, and implement and own projects
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to build good working relationships with various department leads
  • Ability to handle multiple, concurrent assignments effectively
