Shift/s Available:
A shift (Monday through Friday 6:50am to 3:10pm)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by local management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific (HIAMS)AM site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):
- Determine, thru customer interface (such as EDI, phone calls, e-mail, or fax) or thru ERP (System 21) data analysis, customer shipping schedules and quantities.
- Utilize shipper maintenance to create, organize, and prioritize shipments based off of requirement dates and preparation timing.
- Prioritize and assign shippers to material handlers to be pulled.
- Verify completion of shipments.
- Create, transmit, and verify ASN based off of customer specific ASN requirements.
- For expedited or unusual shipments, communicate to all parties from start to finish, and report any delay or process errors.
- Update dunnage return logs. Communicate dunnage shortages such as a pick-up with no return dunnage.
- Track the progress of all shipments.
- Communicate any shipping delays or other issues.
- Prepare non- standard shipments per shipping request.
- Assist in clearing the shipping error reports daily.
- Schedule shipments with carriers.
- Perform general warehouse duties as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma required. 5 year’s experience in one or more of the following areas: customer service, purchasing, material control. Preferably automotive/manufacturing background.
- Personal computer skills required. Must has a knowledge of System 21.
- Must have some shipping experience and be willing to work flexible hours.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communications skill set.
- Well - organized and able to carry out assignments with moderate supervision.
- Certified to operate a forklift a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. The employee occasionally is required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
The employee must regularly lift up to 35 pounds continuously.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position works in a warehouse/production environment. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The performance of this position requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment.
