This is an opportunity to join at the very early stage, where you have an outsized impact across the company every day.<h2>About the role</h2>As Lead Hardware Design Engineer at Sorcerer you’ll be expected to rapidly prototype avionics and sensing systems. You’ll own projects through design, ground-testing, manufacture and flight-testing.Initially, you’ll work closely with our CTO - later building a team of your own as we grow. If this sort of thing interests you we’d love to meet you!<h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul style=""><li>Design and develop stratosphere-hardened systems</li><li>End-to-end ownership of PCB design, bringup, testing, integration, and documentation</li><li>Collaborate closely with software and mechanical engineers</li><li>Support flight-testing campaigns, debugging technical issues in real-time</li></ul><h2>Required Experience</h2><ul style=""><li>6+ years of experience designing hardware end-to-end in industry</li><li>Experience with analog and digital circuit design and testing</li><li>Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, KiCad, LTSpice)</li></ul><h2>Ideal Candidates</h2><ul style=""><li>Have experience designing for space or high-altitude systems</li><li>Have written embedded software in an RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS)</li><li>Can navigate MCAD software (OnShape, Fusion, SolidWorks)</li><li>Succeed with a high level of autonomy</li><li>Aren’t afraid of scrappy, unconventional problem solving</li></ul><h2>Location</h2><ul style=""><li>This is an in-office role at our HQ in SOMA, San Francisco.
