The Global Category Manager is a senior-level position responsible for leading complex procurement projects and initiatives. This role involves conducting advanced sourcing and purchasing activities, performing in-depth cost analysis, and developing strategies to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness. The Sr. Buyer works closely with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve procurement issues, implement cost-saving measures, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role involves mentoring and training junior buyers and providing technical expertise to support continuous improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

Sourcing and Procurement:
• Identify and source potential suppliers
• Review and analyze supplier proposals
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers
• Maintain and update supplier database

Negotiate and Manage Contracts:
• Review and negotiate contracts for goods and services
• Ensure contracts comply with company policies and legal requirements
• Monitor contract performance and make necessary adjustments
• Evaluate and resolve contract disputes

Strategic Planning and Analysis:
• Analyze market trends and identify potential opportunities for cost savings
• Develop and implement procurement strategies
• Monitor and report on key performance indicators
• Conduct market research and benchmarking

Supplier Relationship Management:
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers
• Monitor and evaluate supplier performance
• Resolve any issues or conflicts with suppliers
• Identify and develop new supplier partnerships

Cost Management:
• Monitor and control costs related to procurement
• Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives
• Conduct cost analysis and identify areas for improvement
• Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints

Compliance and Risk Management:
• Ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations
• Identify and assess potential risks in the supply chain
• Develop and implement risk management strategies
• Monitor and report on compliance and risk management measures.

Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field with at least 4 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
• In-depth understanding of inventory management principles and practices.
• Experience with developing and implementing inventory management policies and procedures.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in inventory management software and systems.
