Sustainability Expert - Finance

THE ROLE 

As a Sustainability Expert - Finance in Germany, you will develop and implement winning sustainability strategies for our major clients in the financial industry, as well as contribute to the expansion of Quantis' leading edge sustainability strategy solutions. Your role will combine financial industry insights with sustainability and consulting expertise to help clients drive strategic transformation. You will work with banks, insurance providers, and asset managers to shape ambitious transition strategies, embed sustainability into core business decisions, and accelerate their shift toward resilient, future-fit financial models.

• You’re motivated to put your creativity, strategy development, client relationship development and consulting skills to work towards our mission of aligning business with Planetary Boundaries and building a sustainable future. 

• You bring proven experience (5+ years) working with in sustainability in the banking, insurance, or asset management sector, either through consulting or in-house roles. You understand how financial actors can meaningfully contribute to climate and nature targets and have led sustainability engagements in this space. 

• You have a strong understanding of the German financial system, including its regulatory and voluntary frameworks related sustainability — such as CSRD, SBTi and evolving EU sustainability standards. 

• You have some sales and business development experience of business development and sales experience, and can executeing sales initiatives to bring on new clients in collaboration with sales enablement support. 

• You're eager for a fast-paced and diverse role: Developing and implementing sustainability strategies for our clients, supporting account relationships and helping to design the next generation of winning services and solutions. 

• You understand business strategy and/or strategy consulting, ideally complemented with expertise in the corporate sustainability space. You are motivated by the challenges of transforming the world’s largest companies into more sustainable businesses. 

• You have an entrepreneurial spirit to be part of a team finding new solutions using this expertise to change the world. You’re highly motivated by the challenges of guiding global companies on a sustainable change pathway, adapting your strategy expertise to new challenges and innovating new paths to success. 

• You communicate effectively in fluent English. You speak German at least at work proficiency level. 
  

AS A SUSTAINABILITY EXPERT AT QUANTIS, HERE’S A PREVIEW OF WHAT TYPE OF WORK YOUR DAYS WILL INCLUDE: 

Client consulting sustainability strategy responsibilities: 

• Strategic Finance Advisory: Provide tailored sustainability advisory to financial institutions, applying frameworks such as PCAF, TCFD, SBTi-FI, and TNFD to support clients’ regulatory compliance and transformation journeys. 

• Sales & Business Development: Lead sales processes and business development conversations. 

• Strategy & Solutions Creation: Lead the implementation of sustainability strategy projects, working with senior sustainability leaders, internally and externally, to develop sustainability strategies, managing their implementation and change pathway. 

• Strategic Implementation: Support the shaping and delivery of all Quantis solutions around the strategy, bringing in our expertise on science, metrics, tools, communications and more. 

• Teamwork: Proactively co-create with our other Quantis team members to strengthen our delivery of strategy-related services. 

• Innovation: Support efforts within Quantis’ innovation activities to develop a new generation of smart sustainability strategy solutions.
