ERMCO is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead initiatives that enhance the performance, dependability, and efficiency of our manufacturing systems. This role is responsible for ensuring long-term equipment reliability by applying engineering best practices, conducting data-driven root cause analyses, and driving proactive maintenance strategies. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed reliability into the design, implementation, and operation of manufacturing systems—ultimately reducing downtime, optimizing maintenance costs, and supporting ERMCO’s mission of manufacturing excellence.
Responsibilities
- Perform system reliability modeling and analysis to predict performance and mitigate risk.
- Lead Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to proactively address potential system failures.
- Analyze equipment performance data to identify patterns, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Partner with design, engineering, and operations teams to build reliability into new and existing systems.
- Develop, optimize, and implement predictive and preventive maintenance programs.
- Conduct thorough root cause analyses and implement corrective actions for system failures.
- Establish and track key reliability metrics, ensuring ongoing performance monitoring.
- Drive compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
- Analyze and improve manufacturing support processes with a focus on cost, quality, and efficiency.
- Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to eliminate waste and improve workflow reliability.
- Support the integration of new technologies and equipment to enhance production performance.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring on-time and on-target execution.
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Reliability team to identify and implement cost-effective improvements to existing product lines.
- Stay informed on emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
- Develop and deliver training programs to upskill maintenance and support teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation of processes, modifications, and reliability initiatives for compliance and knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., CRE, Six Sigma, PMP) preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 2 years in a project or leadership role.
- Proven success in driving reliability improvements and leading cross-functional projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in the distribution transformer or heavy manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, and reliability engineering tools.
- Skilled in the integration of advanced manufacturing processes and technologies.
- Proficient with data analysis tools, CMMS, and project management software.
- Solid grounding in mechanical and electrical systems design and operation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated initiative and a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
