Community Planner / Outreach Specialist

AECOM is seeking a Community Planner/Outreach Specialist to join our Transportation & Environmental Planning team in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. The selected candidate will be responsible for translating complex technical concepts into comprehensible content and will play a crucial role in stakeholder engagement and public involvement efforts for major transportation infrastructure projects in the region.

The Community Planner/Outreach Specialist will be expected to:

• Report directly to the NY Metro Environmental Lead in the Transportation & Environmental Planning group.
• Oversee and execute stakeholder coordination and public involvement tasks for projects of varying scales and complexities.
• Develop and produce content for social media platforms, press releases, and newspaper publications, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of project information.
• Plan, organize, and facilitate client, stakeholder, and community meetings with a focus on effective communication and information exchange.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create and deliver comprehensive presentations for both virtual and in-person meetings.
• Design, implement, and manage online survey campaigns to gather critical data and insights for project development and decision-making processes.
