Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to direct plant technical division shift activities in assigned area (DC, MC, or ASM). The Technical Coordinator will ensure that manufacturing activities comply with industry standards, meet production schedules, and maintain high-quality standards. The role requires strong technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.   

Minimum Requirements (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • 4 year College Degree, 2 year degree with 8 years relevant work experience, or 15 years combined supervision and technical experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience
  • Intermediate proficiency in Windows, MSWord, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel

Preferred Requirements (Education, Experience, and Skills):

  • Intermediate proficiency with CAD

Description of Duties and Responsibilities / Weight of Importance %

  • Direct Technical Resources Activities: 40%
  • Coordinate Activities with Production Management: 15%
  • General Project Management: 15%
  • Control & Monitor Department and Capital Project Budgets: 10%
  • Coordinate New Model Activities with KNA: 10%
  • Provide direction and supervision to hourly and salaried associates: 5%
  • Other Duties as Assigned: 5%

Additional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, high level of accuracy
  • Ability to read and understand complex mechanical prints (using JIS standards)
  • Commitment to high standards and the ability to inspire those qualities in others.
  • Proven ability to:
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
    • Make sound business decisions, exercise good judgment and be highly motivated.
    • Conduct performance evaluations for subordinate personnel and provides support / training as needed.
    • Interact with various levels of associates.
    • Ensure all local, state, and federal laws and regulations are complied with in functional area.
    • Analyze technology, resource needs, market demand, and confer with all departments to assess feasibility of projects.
    • Improve manufacturing proficiency levels to meet plant goals and objectives.
    • Maintain knowledge of all processes, procedures, and equipment within Technical C.
    • Handle multiple functions and deadlines, work independently and make effective decisions.
    • Utilize and maintain effective written and verbal communication skills and techniques and to effectively interact with all levels of organization.
    • Maintain a high degree of honesty, confidentiality and integrity.
    • Coordinate and recommend cost savings and efficiency ideas for the facility.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Will supervise both salaried and hourly associates

Safety and Environmental Management:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 14001 environmental management standards.

Software:

  • Basic experience required in Glovia
  • Intermediate experience required in Windows, MSWord, and PowerPoint
  • Advanced experience required in Excel
  • Intermediate experience with CAD preferred

Essential to Job Functions – Physical and/or Mental Restrictions:

  • Ability to work for long periods of time while sitting
  • Standing, walking and bending for the duration of the work day
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Visual ability to work accurately with detailed information and a computer screen
  • Full motor skills

Work Environment – Travel, Noise, Smells, Quiet, Indoors or Outdoors, etc.
