This role provides expertise to drive operational excellence, compliance, and process improvements while ensuring high service standards. This is an integral role on the Human Resources team. </p><h3>Duties and Responsibilities</h3><p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Process end-to-end bi-monthly, multi-state payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance across the platform.</li><li>Prepare the journal entry for each payroll processing for review by Accounting Team to upload into our Accounting Software.</li><li>Lead the interface with the HRIS provider (ADP WFN) to ensure that the system is configured and working optimally to support the needs of the business.</li><li>Perform employee onboarding and offboarding tasks.</li><li>Manage employee benefits administration for programs including health and life insurance, retirement, and other fringe benefits.</li><li>Oversee the annual open enrollment process with the HR team.</li><li>Manage all leave processes and policies including medical, family, PTO, and sick time.</li><li>Manage end-of-year and annual payroll and benefits processes and/or reporting. </li><li>Ensure compliance with payroll laws and best practices; stay informed of new and changing laws and regulations.</li><li>Assist in training staff on payroll procedures and support HR with benefits related items.</li><li>Lead integration and onboarding activities to include mapping payroll transition and setup related to newly acquired practices.</li><li>Develop and implement HRIS strategies, managing system upgrades and customizations, ensuring data security and integrity.</li><li>Analyze HR data and generate reports to support strategic decision making.</li><li>Support 401k Audit and ERISA Compliance.</li><li>Deliver excellent customer service and resolve payroll/benefits issues timely and thoroughly.</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Minimum of 7 years of experience processing payroll required; multi-state and multi-entity preferred.</li><li>Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Accounting, or other related degree, or equivalent years of Payroll and management experience required. </li><li>Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred; Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS), or HR Certification (SHRM, PHR) preferred.</li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships with employees and managers. Respectful, ethical and able to maintain confidentiality.</li><li>Excellent communication skills (both written &amp; verbal) and professionalism required.</li><li>Strong accuracy, analytical skills, attention-to-detail, problem resolution, and project management. </li><li>Ability to work independently, research and propose solutions, organize effectively with strong time management skills.</li><li>Strong knowledge of payroll and tax laws, best practices, reporting regulations, and benefits processing administration. </li><li>Must have experience with HRIS (ADP WFN).</li><li>Microsoft Office Suite proficiency, with intermediate to advanced skills in Excel, Outlook, and Word. Ability to create or work with pivot tables and v-lookups.</li></ul><p> </p><p><strong>Additional details:</strong></p><ul><li>This position is based out of our office in the Belltown neighborhood of Seattle, WA (hybrid work schedule).  </li></ul><ul><li>The estimated compensation for this position is $120,000-135,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
