As a <b>Staff Engineer (Backend)</b>, you’ll be at the forefront of this mission — designing, scaling, and optimizing distributed systems that serve global customers across utilities, energy, and transportation.</div><div><br></div><div>You will lead <b>architecture and system design</b>, ensuring our platforms are scalable, secure, and high-performing. This includes defining coding standards, driving HLD/LLD reviews, and enabling continuous improvements through refactoring, tooling, and automation.</div><div><br></div><div>A big part of your role will be to <b>collaborate cross-functionally</b> — working closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to align technical execution with business impact. You’ll also act as a mentor, guiding teams to adopt best practices and fostering a culture of technical excellence.</div><br><br><h3>How you'll make an impact:</h3><ul><li>Design, develop and deploy scalable distributed systems. </li><li>Implement scalable and resilient distributed systems, with a high amount of fault tolerance, availability &amp; reliability.</li><li>Lead and deliver critical projects that make our systems more robust, which increases the value proposition for the customers. </li><li>Understanding the business and product requirements, and help the team to make design choices which can easily be extended to handle future evolution of business cases. </li><li>Defining the framework and working with a talented set of engineers to implement the most optimal architectural patterns, and defining the coding standards. </li><li>Helping the team with HLD &amp; LLD review and code reviews to make the codebase more maintainable.</li><li>Build tools that improve engineering productivity.</li><li>Refactor service to improve code quality, runtime efficiency and resource optimisation. </li><li>Working with stakeholders, including Engg, design, product, and executive teams and assisting them with technical perspectives and solving product related queries. </li><li>Evolve AiDash architecture as we continue to scale.</li><li>Monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance and resource utilization.</li><li>Stay updated with the latest advancements in distributed systems technologies and methodologies.</li></ul><h3>What we're looking for:</h3><ul><li>10+ years of experience designing and building scalable, extensible &amp; performant products/components.  </li><li>Demonstrated skills and understanding of microservices and systems design.  </li><li>Hands-on experience in evolving tech stack and in-depth knowledge of system internals. </li><li>Sound understanding of Java and Spring Boot/ Python/Go. Unit test cases, code quality &amp; coverage.   </li><li>An extremely good working knowledge of relational database systems (PostgreSQL/MySQL) or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.</li><li>Experience in designing, developing and maintaining Restful APIs, GRPC.</li><li>Operational experience with Docker, Kubernetes and AWS.  </li><li>Knowledge of performance optimisation techniques, including load testing, profiling, and the ability to identify and resolve bottlenecks in backend systems. </li><li>Sound understanding of VAPT analysis and potential resolutions, making the system more secure. </li><li>Mentoring a team of dynamic engineers inculcating a culture of technical excellence. </li><li>Any prior experience working with GIS data and Shapefiles would be a plus.</li></ul><br><div><span style="font-size:12pt;">We are proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
