The Electrical Controls Engineer will design and test power distribution and control panels, develop control narratives, and program PLC/HMIs for high purity water treatment systems and industrial wastewater treatment systems.Core Responsibilities and Tasks for the Electrical Controls Engineer· Applies knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and UL-508A standards to power distribution and control system panel designs. Knowledge of CSA and CE standards is a bonus.· Develops electrical panel drawings using AutoCad Electrical and/or approves drawings designed by other engineers/designers.· Creates internal and external deliverables; Bill of Materials (BOMs), I/O Lists, Load Lists, Cutsheets, Control Narratives, Sequence Charts, Alarms Lists, etc.· Develops PLC and HMI programs for water treatment systems utilizing Rockwell / Allen Bradley and Siemens systems.· Configures various network communications, including Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, Profibus, Profinet and Modbus.· Conducts Controls Checkouts and Factory Acceptance Testing. Configures automated valves, instrumentation, pumps, VFDs, PLC/HMIs, and other miscellaneous electrical hardware.· Troubleshoots equipment operation issues related to electrical design or programming.· Develop Scope of Work (SOW) documents for vendors and purchased products.· Perform client technical specification reviews and identify the need for clarifications and exceptions.· Ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.· Guides project strategy and commits to deliverables and schedule with customers and project management.· Manage project budgets and resources effectively to ensure timely completion of all project deliverables.· Proficiency in ERP software.· Takes ownership of business practices to achieve impact within the role.· Drive innovation and continuous improvement of systems, methods, processes, tools, and standards.· Supports the development of less experienced engineers in a mentorship role.· Supports Startup &amp; Commission activities and pilot equipment in the field.High Impact Behaviors:· Continuous Professional Development: Professionals should be committed to lifelong learning, seeking out opportunities for self-improvement, and staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.· Collaboration and Teamwork: Effective professionals understand the value of collaboration.
