The primary responsibilities of the Technical Specialist I include performing onsite audits with clients, managing administrative tasks related to communications with clients, audit project coordination, and review of audit reports, corrective action plans, and other audit-related documents. The Technical Specialist I is also responsible for documentation and review of all the above mentioned activities on an ongoing basis in the SCS database and supporting document and procedure development.Relevant Standards/Schemes<ul> <li>International Sustainability &amp; Carbon Certification (ISCC)</li> <li>Integrated Management Systems (IMS)</li> <li>Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials (RSB)</li></ul>Essential Duties and Responsibilities Project Management<ul> <li>Conduct both onsite and desk audits according to the standard and verification requirements as assigned</li> <li>Perform required data checks for inventory data and data management systems</li> <li>Support the development of risk assessment and verification plan</li> <li>Complete audits by adhering to the agreed timeline, reporting deliverables, and professional requirements</li> <li>Support the documentation, communication, and closure of audit findings</li> <li>Support the development of verification report and verification statement</li> <li>Communicate in a timely and professional manner with internal staff and external clients</li></ul>Auditing and Technical Expertise<ul> <li>Complete clear technical audit reports with increasing complexity (expansive scope, complex industry, standard), including applicable calculations, interpretation of testing results, and research</li> <li>Conduct data analysis and modeling</li> <li>Interpret results of analysis and prepare written reports</li></ul>Quality and Program Development<ul> <li>Deliver verification services in accordance with SCS Corporate and Program Quality requirements, in addition to participation in periodic internal and external accreditation audits</li> <li>Support the SCS quality management system through maintenance of competency records including training log, completed calibration activities, and up to date knowledge of SCS program and external scheme requirements</li></ul>Minimum Qualifications<ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (e.g. Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, or related) and</li> <li>2+ years of experience working in a related sector</li> <li>Excellent technical writing, observation, and data management skills</li> <li>Strong communication abilities and demonstrated abilities in critical analysis</li> <li>Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines</li> <li>Ability to complete time-sensitive projects and to provide realistic deadlines</li> <li>Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail</li> <li>Complete fluency in English with work experience that involves professional verbal and written communication</li> <li>Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; advanced level in Excel</li> <li>Initiative and ability to work independently; responsive and adaptive to team environment</li></ul>Preferred Qualifications<ul> <li>Multi-language proficiency (e.g. English and German)</li></ul>The above description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
