We're looking for a Head of Talent who thrives in complexity, moves quickly, and knows how to bring exceptional humans on board to solve truly hard problems.You’re not just here to post jobs and screen resumes — you get the tech (yes, even the deeptech), and you know how to translate that into compelling narratives that make top-tier candidates drop what they’re doing to talk to us. You’ve hired everyone from firmware engineers to operations leads to machine learning magicians. And you’ve done it while building and iterating process, creating a best-in-class candidate experience, and keeping hiring managers on track (even when their minds change weekly).You’ll be our first dedicated people hire, which means this role is wide-ranging. You’ll own not just recruitment but onboarding, early HR infrastructure, and eventually help shape what People means at Critical Loop.Responsibilities:<ul><li>Build and run full-cycle hiring processes across technical and non-technical roles (engineering, ops, hardware, field, etc.)</li><li>Partner closely with hiring managers to deeply understand our products, teams, and evolving needs — and tailor strategies accordingly</li><li>Create compelling, accurate, and clear job descriptions that speak to the right candidates</li><li>Source, engage, and build relationships with world-class candidates before we even have a role open for them</li><li>Build lightweight but effective recruiting processes (pipeline tracking, interview loops, feedback, closing)</li><li>Own onboarding from day one — making sure every new hire hits the ground running and feels the mission</li><li>Set up foundational HR policies, documentation, and systems (e.g. PTO, performance tracking, compliance)</li><li>Help shape a talent roadmap that scales with us, and reflect on where we need to evolve next</li><li>Be a calm, proactive presence amid shifting priorities </li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Demonstrated success hiring across a range of roles in fast-paced, technical environments — ideally including deeptech or hardtech</li><li>Fluency in translating complex technical problems into magnetic narratives that excite top talent</li><li>Comfortable being the “first People hire” — able to operate independently and figure things out</li><li>Experience building and maintaining strong candidate pipelines and talent networks</li><li>Strong organizational skills and a love for process that actually works (not just for the sake of it)</li><li>Interest or experience in early-stage People Ops (onboarding, policy design, light HR)</li><li>Able to toggle between big-picture strategy and day-to-day execution seamlessly </li></ul>Bonus Points:<ul><li>You’ve worked at the intersection of hardware, software, and ops-heavy orgs</li><li>You’ve built people processes from scratch (especially in a startup context)</li><li>You love obsessing over candidate experience and employer branding</li><li>Passionate about energy, climate, or critical infrastructure</li></ul>
