This person has direct responsibility for the front-line production in the plant. The Department Supervisor has responsibility for all three shifts. </p><h2>Responsibilities</h2><ul> <li>Oversee daily activities on the production floor, ensuring that manufacturing processes adhere to established schedules, quality standards, and safety protocols.</li> <li>Develop and monitor overdue unit tracking to ensure timely turnaround.</li> <li>Work closely with Manufacturing Team Leads to deploy resources effectively, addressing and resolving production challenges swiftly to minimize downtime and disruptions.</li> <li>Continuously monitor and review production metrics to identify areas of inefficiency and bottlenecks. Implement strategies for process improvement to boost production efficiency and enhance product quality.</li> <li>Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency and product quality.</li> <li>Collect, interpret, and maintain essential reports, including production, employee time and attendance, and product waste reports. Ensure all reports are completed and submitted on time. Excel skills essential and training can be provided.</li> <li>Manage department production schedule including time off.</li> <li>Identify and correct any attendance, production, and employee issues with the assistance of the Area Manager.</li> <li>Conduct interviews to recruit and retain great employees.</li> <li>Onboard new employees by preparing the training schedule and assisting where necessary.</li> <li>Provide input for CapEx budgeting.</li> <li>Implement housekeeping schedules and monitor department cleanliness.</li> <li>Build associate engagement by championing cultural values including enthusiasm, commitment, and involvement.</li> <li>Champion workplace safety by enforcing strict adherence to safety procedures, conducting regular audits, and leading safety training sessions to cultivate a safety-first culture among the production team.</li> <li>Conduct performance evaluations of production personnel, offering constructive feedback, and coaching to foster skill development and enhance team productivity.</li> <li>Engage with the Area Manager and other Department Supervisors to ensure production activities are fully aligned with broader plant goals and objectives, contributing to the overall success of the manufacturing operation.</li></ul><ul> <li>Work with Leads to monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement or additional training needs.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.</li> <li>Three years as a Team Lead or equivalent experience.</li> <li>Seven years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the distribution transformer industry.</li> <li>Knowledge of production processes, quality control standards, and safety regulations.</li> <li>Ability to communicate well at all levels of the organization.</li></ul><ul> <li>Knowledge of servant leadership tenants and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and lead teams while building employee engagement.</li> <li>Ability to problem-solve and make decisions quickly and effectively.</li> <li>Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize tasks.</li> <li>Detail oriented with a commitment to quality, efficiency, and safety.</li> <li>Strong computer skills, including the Microsoft Suite.</li></ul><p> </p><p>Join ERMCO and TRANSFORM your career.</p>
