<div><div>2050 Partners is seeking a mission-driven Senior Consultant to join our team in a fully remote role. In this role, you will directly contribute to the execution and management of decarbonization consulting projects that contribute to the development of future GHG-reducing building codes and appliance standards. We are looking for team members who are passionate about understanding clients’ pain points and delivering pragmatic solutions; dedicated to our purpose of shortening the path to carbon neutrality; and enthusiastic about growing with our dynamic consulting firm. Initial assignments will include the following project areas:<ul><li>Building energy modeling to assess energy savings and operational characteristics of market transformation initiatives (MTIs) and emerging technologies, in support of the California Market Transformation Administrator (MTA) program</li><li>Building energy modeling and cost effectiveness analysis of code change proposals for building energy codes, including the California Energy Code</li><li>Technical analysis in support of federal product and equipment standards, state and national building codes, and state utility programs.</li></ul>Responsibilities include:  <ul><li>Be a trusted advisor for our clients by providing pragmatic advice based on defensible data and analysis</li><li>Perform building energy modeling and cost modeling across a range of projects</li><li>Ensure a consistent and data-driven approach to determining energy savings and cost-effectiveness estimates</li><li>Contribute to multiple projects including building energy modeling, cost modeling, client engagement, subcontractor management, and external stakeholder engagement</li><li>Ensure high-quality deliverables, including reports and presentations.</li></ul>Required Qualifications and Competencies:<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical field(s) is required; bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or building science is preferred; higher degrees such as master’s or Ph.D. can substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience</li><li>8+ years of relevant experience</li><li>Demonstrated significant experience with EnergyPlus, CBECC, DOE-2, DOE-2.2R, or other energy modeling software and engineering simulations</li><li>Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Python, R, or similar</li><li>Consulting mindset: comfort contributing to complex projects with a problem-solving orientation that prioritizes client needs </li><li>Highest ethical standards </li><li>Ability to distill complex technical findings into accessible summaries</li><li>Ability to collaborate well with people at all levels within an organization</li><li>Great initiative, creativity, and curiosity; work well both on your own and as part of team</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Outstanding analytical and conceptual skills</li><li>Confidence, enthusiasm, humility, and discretion</li><li>Flexibility and adaptability with regard to assigned project work</li><li>Willingness for periodic travel</li><li>Desire and ability to work remotely.</li></ul>Desired Experience:<ul><li>Experience with appliance efficiency standards (including Title 20)</li><li>Experience with national model codes and state/local building energy codes (e.g., ASHRAE 90.1, IECC, the California Energy Code, reach codes)</li><li>Experience working in the California energy efficiency program and policy environment, including familiarity with CEDARS, California Policy Manual, DEER and CalTF eTRM workpapers, California Cost-effectiveness Tool (CET), and California Avoided Cost Calculators</li><li>Experience with market-based initiatives such as incentive and market transformation programs, voluntary labeling, or building benchmarking.</li></ul> 2050 Partners is a professional services consulting firm committed to providing strategy, innovation, execution, and knowledge sharing for our clients and partners.
