This role involves overseeing the factory and office operations and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day manufacturing activities. The role is based full-time at our Warminster site (5 days per week on site)<ul><li>Management of the factory and office in the absence of the Director of Production</li><li>Responsibility for all aspects related to the Production area</li><li>Oversee manufacturing and preparation of chemicals for distribution</li><li>General supervision and coordination of production facility staff</li><li>Ongoing learning and familiarisation with all company products</li><li>Purchasing and inventory control of raw materials</li><li>Ensure all operational projects and timescales are delivered as planned</li><li>Lead, develop, and motivate the manufacturing team to meet production targets and manage performance</li><li>Ensure adequate stock levels of all consumables and materials required for production</li><li>Actively contribute to continuous improvement and lean operations, identifying opportunities to reduce waste and improve processes</li><li>Facilities management and maintenance of the Warminster site</li><li>Approval of invoice sign off</li></ul>Key Tasks &amp; Routines:<ul><li>Provide management, support, and guidance to the production team, ensuring operational metrics are met to serve customers and support business profitability</li><li>Assist in achieving key manufacturing performance targets</li><li>Support the Director of Production in setting and reviewing KPIs and operational efficiency measures</li><li>Ensure the factory is maintained in a clean, organised, and safe condition</li><li>Execute tasks as per pallet lists provided by the Distribution Manager</li><li>Ensure compliance with QSHE, safety, and hygiene standards</li><li>Report near misses and contribute to health and safety improvements</li><li>Maintain daily communication with the Director of Production, Technical Team, and Distribution Manager to ensure consistent high-quality production</li><li>Ensure all manufacturing processes adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)</li><li>Keep SAP systems up to date with relevant production information</li><li>Support ongoing training and development of production staff</li></ul>Your Profile / Qualifications<ul><li>Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline, preferably with a focus on Process Engineering.</li><li>Relevant experience in chemical production is preferred.</li><li>Proven leadership and management experience</li><li>Background in a chemical production facility or similar manufacturing environment</li><li>Minimum of IOSH or NEBOSH qualification in Health and Safety</li><li>Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments</li><li>Understanding of raw material purchasing and supply chain coordination</li><li>Able to perform and adapt well in a fast-paced, evolving environment</li><li>Clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing</li><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and other relevant tools</li><li>Flexible and proactive, with a focus on driving change and achieving operational goals</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly within a team</li><li>Experience using SAP in a production or operations setting (preferred)</li><li>Able to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative</li><li>Demonstrates reliability by following instructions accurately and consistently</li><li>Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks, including lifting heavy items</li><li>Flexible and adaptable approach to changing workloads and priorities</li><li>Effective at managing and motivating small teams to meet targets</li><li>Works well under pressure and meets deadlines consistently</li><li>Forward-thinking and proactive in identifying and addressing issues</li><li>Additional Qualifications</li><li>Forklift Counterbalance Licence – desirable</li></ul>Did we spark your interest?
