You will ensure our financial records are accurate and up-to-date, and you will contribute significantly to our financial decision-making processes. This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional looking to grow their career in a dynamic and fast-paced SaaS environment and is located in Canada.Responsibilities<ul> <li>Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance.</li> <li>Maintain accurate and timely financial records by entering and verifying transactions, including complex reconciliations.</li> <li>Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies.</li> <li>Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.</li> <li>Prepare and process invoices, payments, and expense reports, ensuring adherence to policies.</li> <li>Supporting tax filing in the US and Canada.</li> <li>Support the audit process by providing comprehensive documentation and information as needed.</li> <li>Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and provide financial guidance.</li> <li>Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.</li> <li>Perform other related duties as assigned.</li> </ul>Requirements<ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.</li> <li>3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a SaaS or tech environment.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of Canadian and US accounting standards and tax regulations.</li> <li>Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).</li> <li>Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant regulations.</li> <li>Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to issue resolution.</li> <li>Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating across departments.</li> <li>Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and contribute effectively as part of a team.</li> <li>Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment. </li> </ul>Preferred Qualifications:<ul> <li>Located in the GTA and be in the office a minimum of TWO days a week.</li> <li>Experience with cloud-based accounting systems and financial modeling.</li> <li>Strong understanding of SaaS business models and revenue recognition.</li> <li>Experience working in a Startup environment.</li> </ul>Benefits<ul> <li> Business Impact - As a core member of the executive team, you have the opportunity to take a lead role and make a significant impact on the culture and values of the company.</li> <li> Environmental Impact - We are a clean energy company with a mission to reduce carbon emissions globally to ensure a clean and sustainable future.</li> <li> Diversity - People develop their talents and skills in different ways.
