AECOM Buildings + Places, AECOM’s Architectural business, is seeking an Architect to join our team. This position will be based out of our Calgary, Winnipeg or Saskatoon office with remote/hybrid work options permitted.AECOM Buildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects.<ul><li>Performing basic architectural/engineering calculations.</li><li>Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables.</li><li>Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups.</li><li>Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required.</li><li>Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets.</li><li>May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project.</li><li>May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel.</li><li>Strong, hands-on technical knowledge</li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li><li>Document review and inter-disciplinary coordination</li><li>Develop or assist in the development of studies, programs, concepts, preliminary and final plans and specifications for projects of varying type and scale</li><li>Prepare, review and approve drawing, specifications and other documentation as required. These will range from design presentations documents to technical documents for building permit, tender and construction and technical reports</li><li>Ensure designs are developed in compliance with client program of requirements and in compliance with local codes, standards and applicable regulations</li><li>Ensure designs are developed in accordance with AECOM processes, design and quality standards</li><li>Lead project coordination with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal to AECOM and external. Provides leadership by coordinating the work of others</li><li>Interface with clients, authorities and other project participants as needed to achieve a successful project</li><li>Work with AECOM design offices across the country, including participation in project teams and overall development of the design and technical quality of AECOM projects</li><li>Proactively identifies and advocates for improvements to existing processes and procedures. Adjusts to new processes or changing assignments, and considers alternative approaches to complete work</li><li>Completes assigned work independently and receives general guidance and direction on new projects, tasks and priorities</li></ul>
