As a Principal RF Test Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and performing test solutions for RF products from concept through manufacturing release. The ideal candidate for this role has experience supporting product development evaluations and final product characterization testing, as well as working with RF designers and system engineers in developing test requirements, test design reviews, and test plans. </span><span> </span></p><h2><strong><span>Duties </span></strong><span> </span></h2><ul><li>Design, build, and support sophisticated automated test systems to test high-performance RF, digital, and power electronics in both production and prototype environments. </li><li>Partner with cross-functional engineering teams to support end-to-end development cycles of complex RF systems from requirement generation to requirement selloff. </li><li>Propose and execute novel test solutions to rapidly prototype, test, and inform iterative design. </li><li>Develop maintainability and calibration plans for RF test sets. </li><li>Identify and recommend RF test assets, capabilities, and technology.</li></ul><h2><strong><span>Required Qualifications </span></strong><span> </span></h2><ul><li>BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 8+ years of experience across all aspects of RF device/system testing, including test planning, conducting, and reporting, or 6 years of experience with a Master's degree </li><li>Strong knowledge of common RF components such as splitters, attenuators, amplifiers, and frequency converters and their general RF performance characteristics.  </li><li>Solid theoretical understanding of RF test and measurement principles </li><li>Highly proficient in using RF test and measurement equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzer, power meter, High-Speed Oscilloscopes, Waveform &amp; Signal Generator, Power Meters, AutoCal Modules, SOLT Calibration Modules </li><li>Knowledge of RF design tools such as HFSS and ADS </li><li>Experience with designing automated test systems for various types of hardware </li><li>Comfortable with object-orientated programming such as C++, C, Python, Ruby </li><li>Strong documentation skills to track and root cause non-conforming hardware  </li><li>Ability to cover the entire test system lifecycle independently</li><li>Good written and oral communication skills</li><li>Collaborative and capable of working across all levels in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment </li><li>Leadership skills to guide and instruct junior test engineers</li><li>US Citizen or Permanent Resident (future security clearance may be required)</li></ul><h2><strong><span>Desired Qualifications </span></strong>  </h2><ul><li>Prior RF design experience, proficient in using ADS and HFSS </li><li>Prior PCB design experience, comfortable with using Altium </li><li>Leadership skills to guide and instruct junior test engineers and lead investigation efforts for RF failures</li><li>Knowledge of EMI/EMC principles and how they affect the reliability of RF testing</li></ul><div><p> </p><p><strong>ITAR REQUIREMENTS:</strong> </p><ul><li>To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
