You can read more about us in <a href="https://pacificfusion.com/updates/founders-letter">this letter from our founders</a>.<h1>About the Role</h1><h2>Responsibilities:</h2>Facilities Buildout &amp; Infrastructure Planning<ul style=""><li>Lead the planning, design, and execution of facility improvements and equipment installations in both the warehouse and office spaces.</li><li>Coordinate buildout activities including power, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, clean/dry utilities, and data infrastructure to support R&amp;D and production needs.</li><li>Interpret equipment utility requirements and ensure proper location planning, installation, and compliance.</li></ul>Contractor &amp; Vendor Management<ul style=""><li>Serve as the primary liaison and project manager for subcontractors and vendors across multiple disciplines: MEP, HVAC, civil, architectural, security, and general construction.</li><li>Develop scopes of work, solicit and evaluate bids, negotiate contracts, and manage schedules and deliverables.</li><li>Conduct on-site supervision and coordination to ensure quality, schedule adherence, and compliance with safety and building codes.</li></ul>Facilities Operations<ul style=""><li>Establish preventative maintenance programs for building systems and critical infrastructure.</li><li>Manage day-to-day facility operations, including utilities, repairs, and inspections.</li><li>Implement safety procedures, emergency response plans, and facility access controls.</li></ul>Cross-functional Collaboration<ul style=""><li>Work closely with hardware engineering, operations, EH&amp;S, and IT teams to ensure facility upgrades support evolving business needs.</li><li>Translate technical and operational requirements into actionable facility solutions.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications:</h2><ul style=""><li>5+ years of relevant experience as a Facilities Engineer or Facilities Project Manager in a hardware, manufacturing, R&amp;D, or industrial environment.</li><li>Demonstrated experience managing multi-disciplinary subcontractors and vendors, including MEP, HVAC, civil, and architectural trades.</li><li>Strong knowledge of building systems (power distribution, HVAC, plumbing, fire/life safety, etc.) and equipment utility integration.</li><li>Proven ability to deliver facility buildouts from a blank slate or early phase, including interpreting floor plans, construction drawings, and utility schematics.</li><li>Familiarity with local building codes, permitting processes, and safety regulations.</li><li>Excellent project management, budgeting, and communication skills.</li></ul><h2>Preferred but not required:</h2><ul style=""><li>Experience supporting facility operations for an R&amp;D-intensive hardware or robotics company.</li><li>Knowledge of CAD or facility layout planning tools.</li><li>OSHA 30 or similar safety training/certification.</li><li>Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Facilities Engineering (or related field).</li></ul><h2>Benefits:</h2><ul style=""><li>Industry-competitive salary</li><li>Equity plan</li><li>6% employer 401k matching</li><li>Generous paid time off (including sick leave, vacation, paid family leave)</li><li>Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance</li></ul>Actual base salary offered will be determined by: experience, skills, and work location.
