GFL is an entrepreneurial-driven enterprise in need of an Area Procurement Specialist to coordinate and assist in the execution of change implementation, day-to-day procure-to-pay processes, local sourcing, and supplier performance evaluations at an area to the region level. They will be a key contact and liaison for all procurement-related needs from internal and external stakeholders. The APS will work closely with other local and regional functions to successfully deploy Procurement business objectives. In this role, the APS will work hand in hand with the Strategic Sourcing team on national agreement initiatives and implementation and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining procurement processes throughout their area, including its facilities and operations.  Key General Role Responsibilities:<ul><li>Take a strategic approach to supplier relationship management and serve as an initial escalation point within their Area for issue resolution.</li><li>Participate in detailed planning and execution of process improvement initiatives in alignment with the overall procurement strategy.</li></ul><ul><li>Drive compliance for key categories of spend and suppliers based on feedback from the Strategic Sourcing team.</li><li>Develop and implement RFPs, negotiate pricing, and execute contracts for local-level service agreements not covered under the scope of any national agreements.</li></ul><ul><li>Support cost reduction activities and savings tracking in partnership with the Strategic Sourcing team.</li><li>Participate and contribute to the budget process for regions within the designated Area.</li><li>Collaborate with and support local leadership, directing and leading outcomes when required to maximize overall GFL value and help solve supply chain challenges.</li><li>Coordinate with business units/suppliers to provide recommendations for efficiency and process improvement in areas where challenges are identified.</li><li>Guide operations through the Procure to Pay process, providing additional training and support where needed.</li><li>Proactively assess and mitigate supply chain risks, escalating to senior management when needed.</li><li>Communicate with internal and external stakeholders with influence and integrity.</li><li>Build relationships with key stakeholders by serving as a procurement subject matter expert and representing the procurement team in a professional and positive manner.</li></ul>Basic Qualifications, Knowledge, &amp; Skills:<ul><li>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.</li><li>Minimum two years of experience in sourcing/procurement, supply chain, strategic sourcing, financial analysis, contract management, analytics, or related functions.</li><li>Strong analytical skills, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel</li><li>Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).</li></ul>  We thank you for your interest.
